Security Beefed Up Around CM’s Residence
A senior official told PTI that central forces have been deployed near Mamata Banerjee’s Kalighat residence and Nabanna following reports of people gathering and raising slogans. Authorities said they are taking no chances to prevent any disruption of peace during the sensitive counting phase.BJP Leads in Early Trends
As per the Election Commission’s latest updates till 3:30 pm, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was leading in 195 seats, while the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) was ahead in 92 seats in the 294-member West Bengal Assembly.No Victory Rallies on Monday
The Election Commission has also instructed the police not to allow any victory rallies by any political party on Monday. All victory processions will only be permitted from Tuesday to ensure law and order is maintained across the state.The situation remains tense as counting continues and final results are still awaited.
