Father denies reel claim, says Scorpio part of business

“I will follow whatever the legal process entails. Whatever information I received, I received it from the police. My son and daughter were in the car. I run a commercial vehicle business. The vehicle is used in our business, and the challan on the vehicle is because of our drivers who drive it. This is not because of my son. This is a heartbreaking incident.”
He said the family is disturbed and has supported the investigation.
“He is very disturbed. There is deep grief in the entire family, for that family as well as for ourselves. We cooperated with the police...the police asked me for documents. We provided all the documents. No, I was unaware (that my daughter was making a reel), and it wasn't a reel, but a short video,” he said.
Police action against father under MV Act
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Ankit Kumar Singh said the police have initiated action against the juvenile’s father under the Motor Vehicles Act and that he will be chargesheeted.He said that when police reached the spot after receiving a PCR call at around 11:57 am, they found that the Scorpio had hit a motorcycle and a taxi. During the initial questioning, the SUV driver claimed he was 19 years old, but further verification confirmed that he was a minor. He was taken into custody and sent to an observation home. The Juvenile Justice Board later granted him interim relief from February 10 due to his Class 10 board examinations.
The officer also said that investigators have not found any evidence of a stunt being performed at the time of the accident. The injured taxi driver has been discharged from hospital and his statement has been recorded.
Dwarka Sahil Dhaneshra accident by Scorpio
The crash took place on February 3 near Lal Bahadur Shastri College in Dwarka South. According to the preliminary probe, the Scorpio allegedly collided with a motorcycle travelling in the opposite direction and then hit another parked vehicle.Police registered an FIR at Police Station Dwarka South under Sections 281/106(1)/125(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). When officers reached the spot, they found three damaged vehicles and a motorcycle. The rider of the motorcycle, later identified as Sahil Dhaneshra (23), was found dead at the scene.
Police said Sahil’s post-mortem has been conducted and the report has been obtained. The three vehicles involved have been seized and mechanically inspected. Documents have been verified and CCTV footage from the area has been collected.
