Harsha Bhogle, SRH engage in playful banter after team acquires Aussies at high prices

Australia's captain, Pat Cummins, made history by becoming one of the most expensive player in Indian Premier League (IPL) auction 2024. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) secured his services for a whopping Rs 20.50 crore at the Coca Cola Arena in Dubai. This news prompted a playful exchange between cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle and SRH on Twitter. Bhogle humorously inquired about real estate prices in Sydney following Cummins' lucrative deal. SRH responded in jest, stating uncertainty about Sydney but suggesting that Banjara Hills is reputed to be quite lovely.

In a tweet, Harsha Bhogle asked "What are the real estate prices looking like in Sydney?"

To which the SRH replied, "Not sure about Sydney, but we hear Banjara hills is quite lovely though."



Australian cricketer Pat Cummins, with an initial base price of Rs 2 crore, garnered attention from Mumbai Indians in the bidding war during the IPL auction. The auction intensified as Royal Challengers Bangalore joined, followed by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The bidding war led to Cummins setting a new record as the most expensive player in IPL history, securing a deal with SRH for Rs 20.50 crore. This surpassed the previous record held by Sam Curran at Rs 18.50 crore.

A World Cup-winning captain for Australia Cummins has a stellar T20 record with 55 wickets in 50 T20Is and valuable lower-order batting contributions in 128 T20 games.

Additionally, Australian opener Travis Head, known for his recent standout performances, joined Sunrisers Hyderabad for a significant sum of 6.8 crore after a heated bidding battle between Chennai Super Kings and SRH.
