Industrialist Harsh Goenka today lavished praise on Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In a tweet, Goenka said, "Even after hectic canvassing in the Rajasthan heat, CM Rajasthan was looking fresh, energetic and optimistic. It’s amazing where politicians get their energy from- whether it be PM Modi or CM Gehlot!"

Expectedly, the Twitterati were quick to latch on to it with memes and quirky replies.


"The taste of power ensures that they have the energy so that they remain in power," replied one user.

Polling for the Rajasthan Assembly was recently held on November 25. Rajasthan has a total of 200 assembly seats, but polling will be held on 199 seats as the election in the Karanpur seat of Sriganganagar district was postponed following the death of Congress candidate Gurmeet Singh Koonar. There are 5,25,38,105 voters in the 199 assembly constituencies.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot (Sardarpura), former chief minister Vasundhara Raje (Jhalrapatan), former deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot (Tonk), state PCC chief Govind Singh Dotasra (Lachhmangarh), RLP convenor Hanuman Beniwal (Khinvsar) are some of the key faces among the 1,862 candidates in the fray.

The results of the polls will be declared on December 3.
