HBO Max took to Instagram and shared the first motion poster of the Harry Potter TV series with the caption, “Your Hogwarts letter is here. Max has ordered the first ever #HarryPotter scripted television series, a faithful adaptation of the iconic books."

According to a US-based media house Variety, the Harry Potter TV series was announced on April 12 during Warner Bros. Discovery’s presentation. The announcement also revealed that the TV series will not feature the iconic actors from the film series such as Daniel Radcliff or Emma Watson but will have an entirely new cast.

Discovery said that each season of the show will be based on one of the books in the franchise. It described the show as a “decade-long series.”
