Harnaaz Sandhu writes note to mark one year of Miss Universe crown

When Harnaaz Sandhu became Miss Universe on December 13, 2021, she made the entire nation proud. The coveted international beauty pageant came to India after a gap of two decades. To celebrate the first anniversary of her crowning as Miss Universe, Harnaaz shared a heartfelt note on Instagram. She also shared a video compilation of her journey to the top of the competition.

In her note, Harnaaz said she prayed continuously to make her country proud while on the stage. She thanked all those who had faith in her and showered her with love and support throughout her journey. Harnaaz added that she was looking forward to creating more in the future and said she couldn’t have a better start for her dreams and career.

The video clip also included moments when she was declared Miss Universe 2021 and was crowned by the previous year's winner, Andrea Meza. The video and her note have been liked by more than 72,000 users, while the video was watched more than 300,000 times.

Following her victory in the coveted beauty pageant, Harnaaz Sandhu was cast in the Punjabi film Bai Ji Kuttange, which was released on August 19, 2022. She moved to New York in January 2022 to work with the Miss Universe organization and also joined Miss Universe Vietnam 2022 as a judge.

The Chandigarh-based model also bagged endorsement deals with multiple brands from all over the world. Earlier this year, Harnaaz also appeared on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.
