Engineer’s Day coincides with the birth anniversary of Sir M. Visvesvaraya, born on September 15, 1861, in Muddenahalli, Karnataka. Revered as a pioneer in engineering and infrastructure, Sir Visvesvaraya’s contributions spanned irrigation, flood management, and public works.


He also served as the Dewan of Mysore from 1912 to 1918, modernizing industries, education, and urban planning. His dedication and brilliance earned him India’s highest civilian award, the Bharat Ratna, in 1955. Today, his life continues to inspire young engineers to innovate with purpose and discipline.
