According to Sambhal Superintendent of Police (SP) Krishan Kumar Bishnoi, the alleged fraud was carried out under the banner of Follicle Global Company (FLC). In 2023, the accused reportedly organised a program at the Royal Palace Banquet Hall in Sarayatreen, where over 100 people were invited. During the meeting, attendees were encouraged to invest in Binance Coins and Bitcoins with assurances of returns ranging between 50% and 75% over the year.
As per media reports, once the investments were collected, the company shut down operations, and the accused absconded. Complainants, including Mohammad Hilal, Rehan, Aman, Majid Hussain, and Mohammad Naim, alleged that large portions of the money were transferred to an account belonging to a man named Saiful, who presented himself as FLC’s director.
Following the complaints, a formal case was lodged against Jawed Habib, Anas Habib, Saiful, and other unnamed individuals. Additional SP Alok Bhati is leading the investigation and has confirmed that investors were lured with promises of unrealistic profits in crypto and finance trading.
Jawed Habib, who owns one of India’s largest chains of hair and beauty salons, has yet to issue a public statement on the allegations. Meanwhile, police have invoked serious sections of fraud and financial misconduct, and efforts are underway to trace the accused and recover the defrauded amount.
