Gurgaon wife, lover kill & bury husband after daughter exposes their affair; Police say they took tips from YouTube

A woman in Gurugram, her alleged lover, and three others have been arrested for the murder of her husband and hiding his body, police said on Sunday.

As per a PTI report, the victim, Vikram (37), was a resident of Dundahera village and originally from Nawada in Bihar. His wife, Soni Devi (35), has been accused of plotting his murder with neighbour Ravindra (34), after their daughter allegedly saw an obscene video of the two on Ravindra’s phone and informed her father.

According to police, Soni Devi first filed a complaint on 28 July saying her husband was missing. On 31 July, she filed another complaint, this time accusing Ravindra of raping her in March 2025 while her husband was away for work. She claimed he had filmed the act and threatened to release the video if she told anyone.


But during the investigation, police arrested Ravindra, who allegedly confessed to murdering Vikram with the help of two others, Manish (19) and Fariyaad (20). All three have been sent to police custody for five days. Police also arrested Ravindra’s uncle, Santarpal (60), who allegedly helped bury the body. He too is in custody.

Police said Vikram was returning home from work on 26 July when Ravindra and his accomplices pulled him into a car, strangled him with a rope, and buried his body near Mohammadpur Jharsa village. The burial spot was revealed after Ravindra’s confession.

Soni Devi later admitted that she had been in a relationship with Ravindra for about a year. The couple allegedly researched how to commit murder and dispose of a body by watching videos online.

Ravindra’s uncle had reportedly dug the pit beforehand, following Ravindra’s instructions.

“Throughout the plan, Soni Devi stayed in contact with Ravindra by phone. She even tried to mislead the police by filing a missing person’s report, though she knew her husband had been killed two days earlier,” said a police spokesperson.

The investigation is ongoing.
