Gurgaon horror: Bus driver beats live-in partner to death with stick, pipe and roti belan after argument, similar case involving auto-rickshaw emerges in Nashik

A 33-year-old bus driver was arrested in Gurgaon on Tuesday for allegedly killing his live-in partner during an argument at their rented house in Dharam Colony, Palam Vihar, police said. The woman was found badly injured and covered in blood before being taken to a hospital, where doctors declared her dead, a TOI report stated. Police said the accused, identified as Akash, allegedly attacked the woman with a stick, a pipe and a roti belan. All three objects were later recovered from the spot.

Landlord alerted police after seeing assault

The incident came to light after police received information that a woman was lying injured inside a rented house in the Palam Vihar area. When the police team reached the house, they found the woman seriously injured. She was taken to a hospital in an ambulance, but doctors declared her dead.

According to the complaint filed by the landlord, he heard a commotion in the street and stepped outside to check what was happening. He allegedly saw Akash assaulting the woman and hitting her on the head before fleeing. A case was subsequently registered at Palam Vihar police station on the landlord's complaint. Police arrested Akash from Dharam Colony later on Tuesday.

Couple had been living together since 2020

Police said the woman was initially described as Akash's wife in the complaint. During the investigation, however, officers found that the two were not married. The couple had allegedly been living together since 2020. Akash, a native of Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh, works as a bus driver in Gurgaon, according to police.

Investigators said the couple had an argument on Tuesday. Police allege that Akash then attacked the woman with the stick, pipe and rolling pin, causing injuries that proved fatal.

Nashik woman dies after alleged assault by live-in partner

In a separate case in Nashik, a 19-year-old woman died after allegedly being assaulted by her live-in partner following an argument on Sunday night. Mumbai Naka police identified the deceased as Rina Shaikh and registered a murder case against Idris Shaikh, 21. The accused is already in the custody of Indiranagar police in connection with an unrelated robbery case.

Police said Idris, an autorickshaw driver, allegedly assaulted Rina near Wadalagaon and later at their rented home in Bajrangwadi. Neighbours reportedly intervened, but Idris allegedly left the scene.

“The following morning, locals found Rina unconscious and alerted police by dialling 112. She was rushed to Nashik civil hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries around 8.30pm on Monday,” police said.

Accused was already arrested in robbery case

Investigating officer Inspector Sudhir Patil said police discovered during the probe that Idris had already been arrested by Indiranagar police on Sunday night in connection with a robbery case.

Police said Idris allegedly robbed an elderly man of a cellphone worth Rs 5,000 after intentionally ramming the man's car with his autorickshaw and picking a quarrel around 10pm.

Indiranagar police traced and arrested him the same night after receiving the complaint. He has since been remanded to four days of police custody until Thursday.

Investigators are also checking the identity of a woman who was reportedly accompanying Idris during the robbery. Police have not yet confirmed whether the woman was Rina or someone else.

Rina and Idris had lived together for 18 months

Police said Rina and Idris had been living together for around one-and-a-half years. On Sunday night, Idris was allegedly seen assaulting Rina near her parents' home in Wadalagaon. The couple reportedly left after Rina's father arrived at the spot. “Further investigation is under way,” police added.
