Sequence of Events Leading to the Incident
According to police, Vijayran had taken his daughter Vamika to the society park while his wife was at home. Residents rushed the victims to a nearby private hospital after discovering them lying on the ground, but doctors declared both dead on arrival.
Family Cites Health Struggles and Emotional Distress
Family members revealed that Vijayran had been under significant emotional distress after suffering vision loss following a coronavirus infection during the COVID-19 pandemic.His brother stated that he had lost sight in one eye and had limited vision in the other, which deeply affected his mental well-being.
Police Investigation Underway
Officials said no suicide note has been recovered so far. Investigators are also examining why Vijayran chose to jump from a tower other than the one he resided in.“The cause behind the suicide is yet to be ascertained, and further investigation is underway,” a police officer said.
Family Declines Legal Action
