Gulshan Grover with Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi
Bollywood actor Gulshan Grover, famously known as the industry’s ‘Bad Man’, once showed his humble and generous side during a shoot, a story revealed by Archana Puran Singh on her YouTube channel. Archana recalled an incident during a shooting abroad, when she and her husband Parmeet Sethi visited Gulshan’s hotel room. Despite being a star, Gulshan reportedly gave up his bed for the guests and slept on the floor himself. “We thought Gulshan would be resting in the bed, but he had already kept it for us. He took a cushion and slept on the floor,” Archana said, highlighting his generosity and simplicity.

The story was shared to show a different side of Gulshan, often typecast as a villain on screen. Archana said, “You see him as a Badman on screen, but in real life, he is thoughtful and kind-hearted.” She noted that this gesture left a lasting impression on everyone present and showed that behind the iconic roles, the actor remains grounded.

During the conversation, Gulshan also spoke about his bond with his son, Sanjay Grover, highlighting how family is central to him. He shared, “I am divorced from his mother, and she lives separately. Any parent would feel like enough is enough, my son has lived outside for so many years, we should live together now. He came, and we worked out an arrangement where he would stay on the top floor of my duplex house, and I would stay on the bottom floor. He was free to enter my space, but I didn’t have permission to enter his space.”

He added that his pride in Sanjay’s accomplishments drives him to be more generous and caring in life. “Today it’s changed to this: I want to see big success, big achievements of my son Sanjay Grover,” he said, recalling his son’s journey from studying at UCLA to working at Hollywood studios and now producing films in India.

Gulshan also mentioned that Sanjay’s creative vision influenced him deeply, including the creation of his own “Badman” brand. “His experience of making films in Hollywood as well as watching world cinema – German, French, American, Korean – helps me get a certain kind of vision, which I do not possess,” he explained.
