Gujarat Weather Update
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rain and thundershowers in several parts of Gujarat over the next seven days. While parts of North, Central and South Gujarat are likely to receive rainfall initially, weather activity is expected to gradually shift towards South Gujarat later in the week. Many other districts are likely to remain dry.

IMD predicts rain in North, Central and South Gujarat today

According to the IMD, on June 19, light to moderate rain and thundershowers are very likely at a few places in Sabarkantha, Mehsana, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Mahisagar, Dahod, Panchmahal, Kheda, Anand, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada and Bharuch.

Isolated rainfall is also expected in Banaskantha, Patan, Surat, Dang, Navsari, Valsad, Daman and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.


In Saurashtra-Kutch, Botad, Bhavnagar and Amreli may receive rain at a few places, while isolated showers are likely in Surendranagar, Morbi, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Gir Somnath, Kutch and Diu.

What does the IMD forecast for June 20?

The IMD has said that rainfall activity may reduce on June 20. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Banaskantha, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Kheda, Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod and Mahisagar.

South Gujarat districts including Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari and Valsad may also receive isolated showers. Similar weather is expected in Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, as well as Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath and Diu.

Which districts may get rain from June 21 to June 22?

The IMD forecast indicates that rainfall activity will become more limited from June 21 onwards.

Light to moderate rain and thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath and Diu. In South Gujarat, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari and Valsad are expected to receive isolated rainfall. Daman and Dadra and Nagar Haveli may also see similar weather conditions.

IMD outlook for Gujarat weather from June 23 to June 25

According to the IMD, rainfall during the latter part of the forecast period is expected to be concentrated mainly in South Gujarat.

From June 23 to June 25, light to moderate rain and thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari and Valsad, along with Daman and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.

Will the rest of Gujarat remain dry?

The IMD has forecast dry weather for most of the remaining districts of Gujarat throughout the seven-day period. While scattered showers are expected in selected districts, widespread rainfall is not likely across the state during the forecast period.
