Police officials recovered three suspicious parcels containing Indian currency notes from the vehicle. The cash was counted in the presence of police inspectors and was found to total Rs 2,56,80,500.

Cash allegedly being transported from Dahod to Vadodara

Preliminary investigation indicated that the money was allegedly being transported from an Angadia firm in Dahod to Vadodara.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as Rajubhai Ninama, failed to provide legal documents related to the cash during questioning.

According to police, the driver stated that a man identified as Bharat Chopra from Dahod had handed over the money for delivery to Vadodara.

Cash seized under BNSS provisions

The Limkheda police seized the entire amount under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and deposited the cash in the treasury.

Separate operation rescues 93 child labourers in Surat

In a separate development earlier this week, Gujarat Police and the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of Rajasthan’s Udaipur district rescued 93 children allegedly employed as labourers in saree packing units across Surat.

According to Surat Additional Police Commissioner Balram Meena, the operation was launched after the AHTU in Udaipur alerted Surat Police about children allegedly being brought to the city for labour work.

Police conducted searches at Mukti Dham Society and Sitaram Society, where the children were identified.
