Gujarat heatwave: Advisory issued
Amid the rising temperatures, officials from the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and medical experts have issued a public advisory urging residents to take precautions during the hottest hours of the day.Authorities have advised people to avoid stepping out during the afternoon whenever possible, as the heat intensity remains extremely high. Citizens have been urged to stay well-hydrated, wear loose and light-coloured clothing, and cover their heads with caps, scarves or umbrellas while going outdoors.
Doctors have also recommended that those working under direct sunlight should take frequent breaks, drink plenty of fluids, and avoid prolonged exposure to heat to reduce the risk of heat-related illnesses. The advisory comes as the city continues to experience unusually high temperatures early in the summer season, raising concerns about heat stress among residents.
