Rockstar Games posted a message on its website confirming the release date and also thanked the fans for their patience and support.

Viral social media posts recently claimed thatGrand Theft Auto VI, popularly known as GTA 6, would launch globally on May 26, 2026. However, according toRockstar Gamesand multiple recent reports, the game is still officially scheduled for release on November 19, 2026.

Multiple viral claims suggested that GTA 6 might release ‘today,’ creating excitement and confusion among fans. However, no official announcement supports any surprise drop or early launch.

Earlier, there were reports that GTA 6 release would be delayed as Rockstar Games went a whole year without the release of a new trailer. This week began with GTA fans convinced a new Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer was imminent after a supposed Best Buy email hinted that preorders for the game would start on May 18.

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick had hinted that GTA 6 developer Rockstar Games’ marketing campaign for the title is unlikely to begin before the official start of summer.

Speaking to Variety, Zelnick had said Rockstar plans to begin marketing GTA 6 during the summer period, which officially starts in late June. “So the next few weeks I don’t think it’ll be summertime yet, but when it’s summertime, Rockstar expects to start marketing ‘GTA 6,’” he said.
