Sunita Ahuja recently revealed her lavish Mumbai home, blending luxury and spirituality. Vastu Shastra principles guided the entire residence's thoughtful interior design. Family members Yashvardhan and Tina contributed personal touches and decora...

Recently, Sunita gave viewers a glimpse inside their home through a home tour video by Mashable India. The interiors feature cream-panelled walls, wooden flooring, Italian sofas and vintage-style hanging lamps, creating an English drawing-room-inspired aesthetic.
The home has a warm and layered look, with every corner featuring carefully selected décor pieces that complement its overall theme. Rather than appearing overly styled, the space reflects the family’s personal taste and attention to detail.
In a conversation with Mashable India, Sunita revealed that her children, Yashvardhan and Tina, also contributed to decorating the house. Their involvement has given the home a distinctly personal feel, with décor and artefacts reflecting the family's travels, interests and shared memories.
Vastu at the heart of the home
Sunita said every section of the house has been planned according to Vastu principles, which she believes promote peace, prosperity and positive energy. The balcony is one of the key spaces in the house. It features two tulsi plants placed in opposite corners, with one belonging to Sunita and the other to her daughter Tina. The balcony also serves as Sunita's prayer space, where she performs Surya Arghya every morning.
The area features a Sai Baba idol, an angel-themed table with miniature figurines and candles, an elephant sculpture, pyrite crystals and a large mirror. Sunita said these elements have been positioned carefully in line with Vastu considerations.
Living room blends luxury and comfort
The living room has been designed to maintain an open and comfortable atmosphere rather than being crowded with decorative pieces. Cream-toned panelled walls, wooden flooring and layered lighting give the space a warm look, while carefully selected furnishings add to its understated luxury. The room also features souvenirs and artefacts collected by the family during their travels around the world. Italian green and brown sofas, Versace candles and vintage-style lamps add to its elegant, English-inspired aesthetic.
A home shaped by the family's interests
The living room also reflects the individual interests of the Ahuja family. A section dedicated to Yashvardhan includes a large television, a PS5 gaming console and a punching bag.Another prominent feature is an emerald-green wooden bar with functional shelving, which complements the room's earthy tones. The home also has a marble-top dining table where the family comes together for meals and spends time together.
The busiest space in the house
Sunita described the living room as the busiest area of the home. It serves as a space for entertaining guests, hosting meetings, celebrating with friends and spending time with family.Given its importance to the household, Sunita believes maintaining Vastu compliance in the room is essential to creating an atmosphere of harmony and positive energy.
