Government offers free AI course with certificate under IndiaAI Mission; check how to apply, direct link, eligibility and more

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), under the IndiaAI Mission, is offering a free online Artificial Intelligence (AI) course called YUVA AI through government-supported platforms, including FutureSkills Prime and iGOT Karmayogi.

The initiative aims to equip one crore people with basic AI knowledge as artificial intelligence becomes increasingly important in education, workplaces and everyday life.

The course is free of cost, takes around 4.5 hours to complete and is designed for beginners with no prior knowledge of AI.

What does the YUVA AI course cover?

The programme introduces learners to the fundamentals of artificial intelligence, including how AI works, where it is used and how to use it responsibly.

It also covers real-life AI applications in India, ethical considerations, career opportunities and practical examples. The lessons are presented in simple language to make them accessible to first-time learners.

To enrol, visit the YUVA AI for ALL page on FutureSkills Prime and click "Enrol" or "Start Learning." Users must create a free account or sign in, complete their profile if required and begin the course.

After successfully finishing all modules and assessments, learners will receive their Government of India certificate.

Who can apply for the free AI course?

The course is open to anyone who can read and write.

Eligible participants include school and college students, working professionals, teachers, entrepreneurs, homemakers and anyone interested in learning about artificial intelligence. No previous experience or technical background in AI is required.

The government says the course is intended to help people develop foundational AI skills as the technology becomes more widely used across sectors such as banking, healthcare, education, media, manufacturing and information technology.
