The festival of Holi, known for its colours, camaraderie, and joy, was celebrated in full spirit online this year. Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Apple CEO Tim Cook marked the occasion with colourful posts that quickly went viral. While most of the internet welcomed their festive wishes, some discussions emerged around Cook’s chosen image.

Sundar Pichai’s Holi Greetings on Instagram

Taking to Instagram, Pichai shared three striking images, all captured by Google Pixel users. His caption read, “Wishing everyone a very happy and colorful Holi. These #TeamPixel photos capture the vibrant Holi celebrations in India - plus a special Super G!”

The first image showcased packets of colourful powders, a Holi essential. The second photo captured revellers drenched in bright hues, throwing colours at one another in celebration. The final image was an artistic tribute to Google, featuring the company’s iconic “G” crafted with an array of Holi colours in a visually striking design.

Pichai’s post was met with enthusiasm, with thousands of users engaging in the comments and sharing their own festival snapshots. Many praised the images for capturing the spirit of the occasion so vividly.

Tim Cook’s Holi Tribute on X (Twitter)

Meanwhile, Apple CEO Tim Cook shared his Holi greetings on X (formerly Twitter), posting a stunning image taken by Indian photographer Kushagra Tiwari. “Happy Holi to all those celebrating! May it be as joyous and fun as Kushagra Tiwari’s beautiful #ShotOniPhone photo,” he wrote.

The photograph featured a person dressed in a vibrant orange and pink outfit, holding a plate filled with colourful powders. They were laughing joyfully as flower petals rained down, their face streaked with red and blue hues. The image captured the festival’s essence—pure celebration and joy.

A Festival of Colours—and Online Reactions

Social media users were quick to react, flooding the comments with Holi wishes and sharing their own festival images. Both posts amplified Holi’s presence on digital platforms, turning social media feeds into a canvas of vibrant colours.

However, not all responses were celebratory. Some users took issue with the person in Cook’s post, particularly their short hair. While a handful of comments questioned the choice of subject, most users simply revelled in the festive spirit, echoing the sentiment—Holi Hai!

Holi 2025: A Digital Celebration

Beyond the tech leaders’ posts, social media was abuzz with Holi visuals from across India. Markets filled with colour packets, streets transformed into open-air celebrations, and communities came together in the spirit of joy.
