Google TV has come up with a new live TV experience, which gives access to over 800 free TV channels from several providers. This service will be available in 10 languages, including Hindi, Japanese and Spanish, thereby making it accessible to a wider audience.

The Alphabet unit’s move to aggregate several existing free TV services like Tubi, Plex, and Haystack News aims to differentiate its streaming operating interface from competitors, including Roku, Apple and Amazon. The addition of free channels into the “Live” tab where the viewers can see content from many channels like CBS, NBC, ABC, and FOX is expected to bring more users to the platform, who do not want to pay for streaming services.

In a blog post, Google said that it is "launching free built-in channels from Google TV that you can watch without even downloading or launching an app." Viewers can check premium programming and news channels from major networks like NBC, ABC, CBS, and FOX, along with channels from around the world.

This new live TV experience of Google TV will be provided on all Google TV devices in the US. It also includes Chromecast with Google TV and TVs with built-in Google TV from TCL, Hisense, Sony and Philips. The firm also looks to bring the new TV guide and free channels to eligible Android TV devices in the coming months.

Google's expansion of free channels is expected to attract users to its platform and will be an excellent move to differentiate its streaming interface from competitors. The inclusion of channels in 10 languages is also a significant step to attract a more diverse audience to the platform.
