Google Pixel Fold, Pixel 7a may launch in June: Here’s what to expect

Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, recently confirmed the date of the company's annual developer conference. Google I/O 2023 is set to begin on May 10, and the tech giant is expected to reveal new hardware as well as software innovations. The Pixel 6a was teased at last year’s Google I/O event and was released in July 2022. However, the Google Pixel Fold and Pixel 7a are expected to be announced at the upcoming I/O event and may be released in June.

Google Pixel Fold and Pixel 7a launch Date

According to a 9to5Google report, leaked retail listings indicate that Google's first foldable smartphone will be released in mid-June. According to the listings, the smartphone will be called the Google Pixel Fold. Aside from that, the Pixel 7a and a new blue variant of the Pixel Buds A-Series are expected to be released on the same day.

According to the report, the Google Pixel Fold smartphone will be powered by the Tensor G2 chipset, which also powers the company's latest flagship smartphones, the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro.

According to the retail listing, the Pixel Fold will be available in two different colour options. One of them is expected to be named “Carbon”, which is a shade of black or grey, and the other is expected to be “Porcelain”, which is a white colour option.

According to the report, the Pixel Fold will only be available in a 256GB storage variant. Meanwhile, according to the retail listing, this will be the smallest storage variant available. The Pixel Fold may also be available in 512GB configuration, but only in the "Carbon" colour.

The Pixel 7a mid-range smartphone is expected to arrive in three different colour options — “Carbon”, “Cotton” and “Arctic Blue”. Previously, a "Jade" colour option for the Pixel 7a was rumoured.

According to the latest reports, "Jade" may be a colour option for the official case, joining "Arctic Blue," "Carbon," and "Cotton White." variants. According to the report, the Pixel 7a may also have a single 128GB storage variant.
