Several Google services, including Search, Maps, YouTube, News, and Gmail, have been reported as down globally. Users began experiencing issues from 6:00 PM IST, with the peak of disruptions occurring around 7:00 PM.

Reports of Service Disruptions
According to DownDetector, a crowd-sourced outage detection platform, numerous users have reported problems with various Google services. The platform received over a thousand reports, with approximately 66% of users facing issues with Google’s website, 21% with Search, and 3% with Maps.


Google's Response
Google acknowledged the issue, particularly with Search, which returned blank pages and error messages. The company stated on X (formerly Twitter), “There's an ongoing issue with serving some features in Google Search. We've identified the issue and we're working on a fix.” They provided a link to a dashboard indicating a “Service disruption” in Search.

User Reactions
Users took to social media platforms like X and Instagram to voice their frustrations. Dr. Iain Overton tweeted, “Either google news is down, or defense cuts really are a thing.” Another user expressed, “Never thought I’d say this but is GOOGLE down for anyone else?? It’s making it impossible for me to search for news.”

DownDetector's data suggested significant disruptions across multiple Google services, with 1,115 reports peaking at 7:00 PM IST. Issues were noted in Google News and Discover as well, affecting users globally. Users reported problems on both mobile phones and desktops.
