Google offers Gemini Pro worth Rs 19,500 for free to college students: Check how to avail, features and benefits of the package

Google has announced free access to its premium Google AI pro plan, which costs Rs 19,500 annually, to Indian college students aged 18 years and above. The offer is valid until September 15, 2025.

With the premium version, Google will offer advanced AI tools including Gemini 2.5 Pro, Deep Research, and enhanced NotebookLM features.

The free Google AI offer is backed by a joint Google-Kantar study displaying that 95 per cent of Indian students using Gemini feel more confident in their daily lives. The research further shows that 75 per cent of Indians are searching for AI collaboration tools to assist with personal growth and achievement.

Google AI Pro plan: Gemini 2.5 Pro, Veo 3, other features

The free subscription provides unlimited access to Gemini 2.5 Pro, offering comprehensive homework help, exam prep, and writing assistance. Furthermore, students can upload images or files for step-wise problem-solving assistance, create guides from your notes, make practice tests, and even turn materials into podcasts for learning anywhere.

Other features include Veo 3 Fast for video generation from text and images, Audio Overviews for podcast creation, Deep Research for detailed academic reports and Gemini Live for real-time brainstorming and presentation practice. The plan also includes AI help directly into Google Apps like Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and Slides.

How to claim Google AI Pro?

• Students who are eligible can visit Google One and verify their student status via SheerID verification.
• Add payment method and finish the trial purchase flow, although no fee will be deducted during the free 12-month period.
  
• Students are advised to use their personal Gmail accounts rather than university-issued Google Workspace accounts for registration.

Furthermore, the offer also includes various perks like cloud storage of 2 TB across Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Photos, plus enhanced NotebookLM features with 5x higher limits for notebooks and sources.

Once nearing the expiry date, Google will send reminder emails providing them with enough time to cancel if required.
