Google announces dates for its next I/O developer conference
Google I/O is set for May 19 and 20 in Mountain View, California. The event will be livestreamed on YouTube. Google will showcase its latest AI advancements, including updates to Gemini and Android.

The event will take place in person in Mountain View, California, and will also be livestreamed on YouTube. CEO Sundar Pichai shared the dates in a post on X.

The company is widely expected to unveil updates to its Gemini models and other AI products. It could also share more about its smart glasses push. In December, Google said it plans to launch its first AI glasses in 2026.

Interest in smart glasses has surged amid the success of Meta’s Ray-Ban AI glasses. Ray-Ban maker EssilorLuxottica has said sales of Meta’s AI glasses more than tripled in 2025, topping 7 million units. At last year’s I/O, Google announced a smart glasses partnership with Warby Parker.
Google I/O 2025 was heavily AI-focused, with announcements including the broader rollout of AI Mode in Search and the debut of its AI filmmaking app Flow.
