In a startling incident in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, a group of young individuals attacked a cab driver with hockey sticks after he inadvertently disturbed their video shoot while driving on NH-9. Abhay Chauhan, a cab driver from Auraiya, was returning to his office in Noida Sector 62 around 12:30 am when he encountered a Tata Nexon blocking his path near the CISF camp. Seeking to pass the slow-moving vehicle, Chauhan honked his horn, unaware that the occupants were filming a video from the car's sunroof, a TOI report stated.

Narayan Pratap Singh, Abhay's brother, recounted the events to TOI, stating, "Some of the Nexon’s occupants were recording a reel by emerging from the sunroof and spreading their arms as the wind ruffled their hair. That is when my brother overtook the car and sounded the horn."

In response, the Nexon swiftly overtook Abhay's Ertiga and abruptly halted. "Four to five youths emerged from the Nexon and began vandalizing Abhay’s cab," Narayan continued. "They shattered the windshield and damaged the bonnet. When Abhay confronted them, they verbally abused him, claiming he had ruined their video shoot."

The altercation escalated as the youths physically assaulted Abhay, knocking him to the ground and attacking him with hockey sticks. Narayan received a call from the police around 1 am, informing him of the incident. Abhay was rushed to a private hospital where he received 15 stitches to his head and remains under observation.

Swatantra Singh, ACP of Indirapuram, stated, "Upon receiving a report of a cabbie injured on the road, we promptly took him to the hospital and informed his family." An FIR has been lodged based on the family's complaint under various sections of the BNS Act, 2023, against unknown individuals.

The Tata Nexon, registered to Ram Karan of Sonipat, was reportedly loaned to a friend who may have been involved. "We are examining CCTV footage and have deployed three teams to apprehend the suspects," Singh added.
