Ghaziabad-based fashion blogger 'thrown off building' in Agra, husband arrested

A fashion blogger, Ritika Singh (30), based out of Ghaziabad was pushed off her building in Agra, with her hands tied. The police have arrested the husband for allegedly pushing her off the balcony after an argument.

Tragedy struck Agra when a fashion blogger from Ghaziabad was killed after she fell off her apartment’s balcony. The victim was reportedly staying with her friend. According to the police, her husband, Akash Gautam, confronted her, and an argument ensued. Following the argument, Akash and his family members allegedly tied Ritika Singh’s hands and threw her off the balcony, which resulted in her death.

Ritika Singh had a travel, lifestyle, and fashion blogging account on social media. She had more than 44,000 followers on Instagram.


The SSP of Agra, Sudhir Kumar Singh, said that the police received information about a woman’s death after falling off the fourth floor of the building. The building in question was located in the Nagla Mewati area. Singh added that when the police investigated the matter, they found that Ritika Singh was living with a friend named Vipul in Omshree Apartments. Her husband and his family members came to the flat and argued with her. A struggle ensued in which Ritika’s hands were tied, and then she was pushed off the balcony. She suffered severe injuries after the fall and was rushed to the nearest hospital. However, she was declared dead on arrival.

The police added that Ritika’s husband and in-laws also assaulted her friend before throwing her off the building. Reportedly, Ritika had been living in the flat for the past year and a half. Vipul was her live-in partner, and after her husband caught wind of her whereabouts, he visited the apartment, which led to a row with his wife.

Ritika Singh married Akash Gautam in 2014 in Ghaziabad. Later, the couple shifted to Firozabad, and Ritika became friends with Vipul via Facebook. She later shifted to the Agra flat with Vipul as live-in partners.
