A video is going viral on social media, which shows a woman venting out her anger on BJP leader Girish Mahajan during the party's Jan Aakrosh rally from Jamboori Maidan to the NSCI Dome, Worli. In the video, the woman can be seen shouting and screaming that she was stuck in traffic for more than an hour when she had to go pick up her child. Girish Mahajan news

Maharashtra minister and BJP neta Girish Mahajan got a taste of an angry Mumbaikar's ‘akrosh' during the rally on Tuesday when the agitated woman confronted the minister, shouting at him for blocking roads and causing inconvenience to commuters. "Get out of here. You are causing a traffic jam," she said.

The woman was on her way to pick up her child from school. But due to the BJP rally, she was left stranded in traffic for several hours. Frustrated by the standstill, she stepped out of her vehicle, walked into the centre of the march and engaged in a heated exchange with Maharashtra minister Girish Mahajan.

Even as the minister tried to pacify her, the woman returned and continued her tirade, saying, "Did you not understand? What is wrong with you? There are hundreds of people waiting."

A visibly frustrated woman asked why the rally could not be held at a nearby open ground instead of disrupting vehicular movement.

When a police officer stepped in, she reacted sharply, refusing to engage and insisting that no one speak to her. The incident, caught on camera, quickly went viral online, drawing widespread criticism of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s protest tactics.

Girish Mahajan was addressing reporters at the rally, organised to target opposition parties over the defeat of the Constitution amendment bill, which aimed to fast-track the implementation of 33 per cent reservation for women in legislative bodies, in the Lok Sabha.

Political reactions

After the video spread like a wildfire on social media, Girish Mahajan said that the language used by the woman was 'inappropriate'. "I will not say it was wrong. Yesterday, there was a women’s ‘Jan Aakrosh Morcha’ organised by women against Congress after the Bill was passed, and thousands of our sisters participated in it. But when such a march takes place on the road and has to move from one place to another, in this case towards Worli, the road is bound to be blocked, and some inconvenience is inevitable in any protest... Still, there is a proper way to express anger, and I feel the language used was inappropriate. We had informed them that the road would be cleared within 10 minutes, and we would take care in the future," he told reporters.

Maharashtra Congress president Harshwardhan Sapkal shared the clip, alleging that the ruling party’s campaign on women’s reservation exposed its “real face.”

He accused the BJP of misleading women for political gain and using the issue to push a “false narrative.”

Sapkal further claimed that the opposition alliance had already blocked what he described as the BJP’s attempt to alter constitutional and electoral processes under the guise of reservation, adding that the party was now turning to rallies and propaganda to revive the issue.

Former state Congress chief Nana Patole also shared the video, alleging that ordinary citizens were being harassed due to the BJP’s “drama.” He added that the woman’s outburst reflected growing public frustration, claiming that women across the country would similarly reject the BJP in the future.
