'Gave her Rs 700, she ate…': Gurgaon driver says woman threatens molestation case when asked for fare after hours-long ride

A woman in Nuh allegedly refused to pay a cab fare after an hours-long ride and threatened the driver with police action, police authorities said. The incident has sparked outrage and comes amid reports of the same woman being involved in previous scams.

Cab Ride Turns into Hours-Long Ordeal

According to police, cab driver Ziauddin filed a complaint stating that a female passenger, Jyoti Dalal, booked a ride at 8 am on Tuesday. She asked to be taken first to Sector 31, then to the bus stand, and finally to Cyber City.

Ziauddin said he gave Dalal Rs 700 for expenses along the way, including food and drinks. He claimed he made all payments during the journey, only to face refusal when he requested that she settle the fare at the end.


"She asked for some money, and I gave her Rs 700. She ate and drank at various places, and I made all the payments. In the afternoon, when I demanded she pay and end the ride, she became enraged," said Ziauddin.

Passenger Allegedly Threatens Driver

The driver alleged that Dalal threatened to frame him for theft or molestation when confronted over the fare. She reportedly created a scene at the Sector 29 Police Station, further delaying resolution.

After the woman left, police realised that Dalal had previously conned another cab driver and a local salon. Reports indicate she defrauded a salon of Rs 20,000 and refused to pay Rs 2,000 to another cab driver.

Past Incidents: Viral Video from February 2024

Dalal’s history of fare disputes is well-documented. In February 2024, a video showing her arguing with a cab driver over payment went viral, highlighting her alleged pattern of fraudulent behaviour.

FIR Registered Against Jyoti Dalal

Sector 29 Police Station SHO Ravi Kumar confirmed that an FIR has been registered against Jyoti Dalal under fraud and related sections of the BNS. Authorities said a probe is underway and that Dalal is likely to be arrested soon.
