According to scriptures, Brahma Muhurta is considered the best time to take a pilgrimage bath, making April 27, 2023, the most auspicious day to take a holy dip in the Ganga river. The ideal time for worshipping Maa Ganga on April 27 is from 11:00 AM to 1:38 PM. Taking a holy bath in the river Ganges is believed to wash away all sins and relieve one of their sorrows.

The following is the method of performing the puja:


Take a bath early in the morning, wear clean clothes and set up a clean puja altar.

Place a picture or idol of Goddess Ganga on the puja altar and decorate it with flowers, fruits, and other offerings.

Offer water, milk, honey, curd, and sugar to the deity.


Chant the Ganga Saptami Mantra:


"Om Gange Cha Yamune Chaiva Godavari Saraswati, Narmada Sindhu Kaveri Jalesmin Sannidhim Kuru"
