Ganga Expressway inaugurated: Key facts
-One of the most important and noticeable facts about the Ganga Expressway is the cutting down of travel time. You can travel from Meerut to Prayagraj in just six hours. At present, it takes approximately 10 to 12 hours.-The Ganga Expressway is a key route for travellers from the Delhi-NCR, offering seamless connectivity via the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, with a short link road at Bijoli providing access to the expressway.
-Another fascinating fact is that travellers can travel on this Expressway at a speed of up to 120 kmph. The six-lane access-controlled expressway, has been designed with the provision for expansion to eight lanes.
-Ganga Expressway's importance is enhanced by its connectivity with major routes and infrastructure, including the Yamuna Expressway, Agra–Lucknow Expressway, and the Jewar Link Expressway. It also provides access towards Noida International Airport and a proposed extension connecting to Haridwar.

Economic Impact
According to TOI, the opening of Ganga Expressway will not just reduce the travel time but also enhances connectivity across freight and passenger corridors. The estimated fuel saving is 30 percent and the annual logistics savings is estimated at Rs 25,000 to Rs 30,000 crore, likely to boost UP's GDP by over Rs 1 lakh crore. The Ganga Expressway is expected to generate 3 lakh jobs and will boost state revenue via industrial output and land value appreciation.The project also features key river crossings, including a 960-metre bridge over the Ganga and a 720-metre bridge across its tributary, the Ramganga. Both have been designed to withstand local flood conditions.

What's in for travellers?
The Ganga Expressway supports travellers as it has nine public utility complexes equipped with fuel stations, rest areas and food courts. Another standout feature is a 3.5-km emergency landing strip in Shahjahanpur district which has been tested by the Indian Air Force.Integration with other expressways
The Ganga Expressway will be integrated with both existing and upcoming corridors, including the Agra–Lucknow Expressway, Farrukhabad Link Expressway, and Jewar Link Expressway, along with a proposed extension connecting Meerut to Haridwar.Reports suggest the expressway may be extended by around 146 km up to Haridwar, passing through Amroha and Bijnor and covering more than 200 villages. The project will operate under a toll-based public-private partnership model, with Adani Enterprises and IRB Infrastructure Developers holding concession rights for 30 years.
