In a shocking case of road rage, a woman in Jammu was caught on camera threatening a man with a machete-like weapon after a minor traffic brush-up. The incident, which quickly went viral on social media, has sparked serious concerns about rising aggression on Indian roads.

It all began when the woman’s car was slightly grazed by another vehicle. Instead of calmly resolving the issue, she stepped out of her car, grabbed the other driver by the collar, and then pulled out a gandasa, a large traditional blade, from her own vehicle.

Passersby were left stunned. Many started filming the dramatic scene as the situation turned tense. The woman was soon nicknamed “Gandasa Lady” online, as clips of the incident spread widely.

Local police arrived at the spot soon after being alerted. They managed to disarm the woman and took both drivers to the police station for questioning. An investigation is underway to determine if any legal action will be taken.

This isn’t the first time such violent behaviour has been reported on Indian roads. Experts say incidents like these are becoming more common due to growing daily stress, heavy traffic, lack of patience, and a dangerous sense of superiority behind the wheel.

Carrying a weapon in public, especially for anything other than self-defence,is both illegal and dangerous. Police have warned that such behaviour can easily lead to deadly outcomes and have urged people to practise restraint during traffic-related disagreements.

As the ‘Gandasa Lady’ incident continues to make headlines, it’s a strong reminder of the need for better road etiquette, emotional control, and stricter rules around carrying weapons in public. Drivers are being urged to stay calm, avoid confrontations, and call for help when needed, because no road issue is worth risking a life.
