'Gandasa lady' goes viral: Jammu woman’s road rage outburst with weapon sparks panic and police action; Watch video
A road rage incident in Jammu escalated dramatically when a woman, after a minor car accident, threatened another driver with a gandasa, a large blade. The shocking event, captured on video and widely shared online, has raised concerns about incre...

It all began when the woman’s car was slightly grazed by another vehicle. Instead of calmly resolving the issue, she stepped out of her car, grabbed the other driver by the collar, and then pulled out a gandasa, a large traditional blade, from her own vehicle.
Passersby were left stunned. Many started filming the dramatic scene as the situation turned tense. The woman was soon nicknamed “Gandasa Lady” online, as clips of the incident spread widely.
Local police arrived at the spot soon after being alerted. They managed to disarm the woman and took both drivers to the police station for questioning. An investigation is underway to determine if any legal action will be taken.
This isn’t the first time such violent behaviour has been reported on Indian roads. Experts say incidents like these are becoming more common due to growing daily stress, heavy traffic, lack of patience, and a dangerous sense of superiority behind the wheel.
As the ‘Gandasa Lady’ incident continues to make headlines, it’s a strong reminder of the need for better road etiquette, emotional control, and stricter rules around carrying weapons in public. Drivers are being urged to stay calm, avoid confrontations, and call for help when needed, because no road issue is worth risking a life.
