The agency expressed their grief, stating, "It is with deep sadness we have to tell you that our dear friend and client Darren Kent passed away peacefully on Friday. His parents and best friend [were] by his side. Our thoughts and love are with his family in this difficult time. RIP my friend."
Born and raised in Essex, Kent's journey in the world of acting began after he graduated from Italia Conti in 2007. He embarked on his career with a significant role in a 2008 horror production, gradually making his way to the Emmy-winning Game of Thrones. In the series, he portrayed the character of a goatherd in Slavers Bay, which left an indelible mark on viewers.
More recently, he appeared as a reanimated corpse in the 2023 film Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. His diverse portfolio includes roles in various productions, such as Snow White and the Huntsman, Marshal’s Law, Bloody Cuts, The Frankenstein Chronicles, Blood Drive, and Birds Sorrow, among others.
Kent's achievements extended beyond acting. He won the best actor award at the Van D’or Awards in 2012 for his portrayal of Danny, a boy with a rare sun-sensitive skin condition, in the film Sunny Boy. Remarkably, Kent shared a personal connection with his character, as he himself grappled with a skin disorder, as well as osteoporosis and arthritis.
Notably, Kent's talents weren't limited to the screen. He was an accomplished writer and director, having directed the 2021 short film You Know Me. This work earned him a January Award, a testament to his creative prowess and dedication.
