'Gadar 2' day 2 collection: Sunny Deol's movie continues its magic run at the box office

The much-anticipated "Gadar 2," featuring Sunny Deol reprising his iconic role as Tara Singh, has experienced an exceptional run at the domestic box office, amassing an impressive Rs 83.18 crore net within the initial two days of its release. Directed by Anil Sharma, who also helmed the 2001 original "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha," the sequel was launched in theaters on Friday.

"Sunny Deol's magic has taken over the box office, after shattering records on the first day itself, the film has raked in Rs 43.08 crore net on day 2 of its release.... These remarkable numbers, typically reserved for solo releases, propel 'Gadar 2' towards the second-fastest Rs 100 crore club for 2023, with a net of Rs 83.18 crore already achieved," the makers said in a press note.

On the release day, Salman Khan gave a special shout out to Sunny for 'Gadar 2'.

Taking to Instagram, the ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ actor shared Sunny Deol’s poster and wrote, “Dhai kilo ka haath equals chalis cr ki opening. Sunny paaji is killing it. Congrats to the entire team of Gadar 2.”

The original "Gadar," released in 2001, which was also directed by Anil Sharma, was a romantic-action drama set against the backdrop of the Partition of India. It was a huge hit back then as well.

Meanwhile, OMG 2 has minted Rs 25.56 crore net on domestic box office in two days. The movie, which has Akshay Kumar, Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi in leads roles, is produced by Cape of Good Films and Wakaoo. It touches upon various issues of teenagers and the importance of sex education.
