Disney has finally offered fans a first look at Frozen 3, giving a glimpse of what Anna, Elsa and the rest of the gang could be facing in the next chapter. The footage was unveiled at the D23 event in Anaheim, California, where Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel also appeared on stage and performed “Frozen Heart.”

The new film is shaping up to be more than another trip back to Arendelle. Disney’s preview points towards a royal wedding, a possible romantic storyline for Olaf and the arrival of a mysterious new enemy.

Kristen Bell, who voices Anna, also teased that Anna and Elsa are heading into what could be their biggest adventure yet.

Frozen 3 first look: What did Disney reveal?

The preview appears to begin with Anna and Kristoff’s relationship taking centre stage. After getting engaged at the end of Frozen 2, the pair could finally be preparing to tie the knot.

But the wedding celebrations may not go as planned.

The footage also introduces a mysterious figure who addresses Anna and Elsa with the words, “The sisters of Arendelle, we finally meet.” The line has already raised questions about the identity of the new antagonist and what the character wants from the two sisters.

There is another surprise in store for Olaf. The beloved snowman is reportedly set to have a potential love interest of his own.

Disney has also indicated that the new adventure will move beyond Arendelle, making the setting one of the notable changes from the earlier films.

Frozen 3 release date

Frozen 3 is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on November 24, 2027, putting its global theatrical release close to the Thanksgiving holiday in the US.

An exact Disney+ streaming date has not been announced. As with many Disney theatrical releases, the film is expected to reach Disney+ after its cinema run, although the timing will depend on the theatrical window.

Jennifer Lee and Trent Correy are directing the movie. Lee is also involved in writing and executive producing, while Christina Chen is serving as producer.

Frozen 3 plot: What will the new movie be about?
