The actor-activist-politician recently dropped by the headquarters of Perplexity AI in San Francisco to meet its CEO, Indian-origin AI expert Aravind Srinivas.
Haasan posted snapshots of the visit on X and gave a shout-out to Srinivas and his team, praising their intellect and the spirit of innovation.
“Curiosity didn’t kill the cat—it created Aravind Srinivas and PerplexityAI,” he quipped, giving philosophical flair to what could’ve been just another tech visit.
Netizens float theories
The post went viral quickly.
“He stands for knowledge and self-learning,” a user pointed out. Another chimed in, “From scripts to silicon valleys, your journey continues to inspire.”
Even Aravind Srinivas couldn’t hide his excitement, later posting his own photo with the legendary actor. He said he was inspired by Haasan’s relentless curiosity and his drive to blend cutting-edge tech into storytelling.
Curious case of AI obsession
Turns out, Haasan’s AI passion isn’t just a passing fad.
The veteran actor recently spent 45 days in the US attending an AI course, aiming to understand how artificial intelligence can revolutionise filmmaking. The course, which was originally 90 days long, had to be cut short due to his work commitments—but his mission remains clear: Haasan wants AI to play a starring role in his upcoming films, said a Deccan Herald report.
And this isn’t new territory for him. Known for pushing cinematic boundaries—from the prosthetics of Indian to the visual effects in Vishwaroopam—Haasan is no stranger to tech.
AI is simply his newest playground.
