From being mocked for buying a Nano to a ₹1.5 crore Mercedes, trader’s journey moves hearts

A trader’s video capturing his mother in tears inside a luxury car has struck an emotional chord online, after he recalled how his family was once mocked for even considering buying a Nano. Harshit Patel said the moment represented how far they had come financially and described his trading journey as a path to greater freedom for his family.

“They laughed when we talked about buying a Nano. Today, she is sitting in a ₹1.5 Crore car,” Patel wrote on Instagram.

The model of the vehicle was not identified in the post, although a glimpse of a Mercedes logo could be seen on the steering wheel in the video.

From taunts to a luxury car

Patel said his family faced repeated criticism when they were struggling financially and living in a small room. He recalled being told to lower their ambitions, choose conventional employment and stop dreaming beyond their means.

“People will always doubt your vision when your beginnings are humble. They will tell you to play it safe, get a ‘normal’ job, and stop dreaming so big. When we were living in that small room, the taunts were endless. But every single one of those doubts just became fuel for the fire,” he wrote.

The video shows Patel’s mother sitting inside the new vehicle and becoming emotional. He asked her why she was crying before reassuring her that the achievement was his response to those who had once taunted the family.

Patel said the car cost ₹1.5 crore.

‘Trading isn't just about making money’

Reflecting on his journey, Patel said trading had given him more than financial gains and connected it to his ability to provide his parents with a better life.

“Trading isn't just about making money; it is about buying back the freedom to give your parents the life they always deserved. The tears of joy in your mother's eyes will make every sleepless night, every blown account, and every moment of stress completely worth it,” he wrote.

His post focused on the sacrifices and difficulties he said accompanied his journey, including sleepless nights, financial setbacks and stress.

Trader’s message to those chasing success

Patel ended his post by urging others to work quietly and let their achievements speak for themselves.

“Grind in the shadows so you can put your parents in the spotlight. Work relentlessly, and let the sheer weight of your success be your loudest reply,” he wrote.

The video drew an emotional response from social media users, with several praising the moment.
