From 54% in class 10 to AIR 349 in JEE Advanced: How Jainendrajeet cracked IIT Bombay after scoring 41 in Maths; reveals his biggest stratergy

A 54% score in Class 10, including just 41 marks in Mathematics and 48 in Science, was a major setback for Jainendrajeet. However, a few years later, he turned that disappointment around by securing a 99.98 percentile in JEE Main 2023 and an All India Rank of 349 in JEE Advanced.

His performance eventually earned him admission to the Computer Science programme at IIT Bombay.

Health Issues Made Class 10 Preparation Difficult

Jainendrajeet studied at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Vrindavan. His Class 10 result came as a shock, especially because he had expected to score much better.

Before his board examinations, he had spent around 40 to 50 days on bed rest because of health issues, leaving him with limited time to prepare.

In a YouTube video, he recalled the moment he saw his result.

“I opened the website, looked at my score and froze. My first thought was, ‘This can’t be my result,’”

The disappointment became even harder to deal with when he saw several classmates scoring above 90%. He also faced criticism and trolling over his marks.

He Changed His Approach to Studying

Instead of allowing his Class 10 result to define his academic journey, Jainendrajeet decided to change the way he studied.

He created a structured timetable, reduced distractions and limited his social media use. Over time, his study routine increased to around 10 hours a day.

He also started watching educational videos before attending classes, giving him a basic understanding of the topics in advance. This allowed him to focus more on difficult concepts during lectures.

Another important change was setting small, achievable daily targets rather than trying to tackle the entire syllabus at once.

Previous-Year Questions Became Part of His Strategy

Jainendrajeet also relied heavily on previous-year questions during his preparation. This helped him become familiar with the examination pattern while improving his problem-solving skills.

His preparation eventually produced remarkable results.

From 54% to JEE Advanced AIR 349

In JEE Main 2023, Jainendrajeet secured an impressive 99.98 percentile. He followed this up with AIR 349 in JEE Advanced in the Open category.

The results marked a dramatic turnaround from his Class 10 performance, when he had scored only 41 marks in Mathematics and 48 in Science.

His JEE performance secured him a place in IIT Bombay's Computer Science programme, one of the most sought-after engineering programmes in India.

From Class 10 Setback to IIT Bombay

Jainendrajeet joined IIT Bombay in 2023 to pursue a BTech in Computer Science. His journey highlights how an academic setback does not necessarily determine a student's future.

By changing his study methods, maintaining consistency and focusing on achievable goals, he transformed a disappointing Class 10 result into an exceptional performance in India's highly competitive engineering entrance examinations.
