In the wake of the catastrophic train accident at Bahanaga Bazar in Odisha's Balasore district, which stands as one of India's most heart-wrenching railway disasters, rescuers stumbled upon fragments of paper scattered amidst the wreckage. These fragments, delicately adorned with heartfelt Bengali poems, exuded an essence of profound love.

As the rescuers sifted through the belongings at the site, the torn pages from a diary unveiled a glimpse into the innermost musings and contemplations of an enigmatic passenger.

Within the pages, adorned with intricate sketches of elephants, fish, and a vibrant sun on the flip side, lay the echoes of moments captured during serene and leisurely interludes.

"Alpo alpo megh theke halka bristi hoy, chotto chotto golpo theke bhalobasa sristi hoy" (scattered clouds lead to light rains, (while) love blossoms from the little tales we hear)," the handwritten poem said.

Yet, the author's identity remained shrouded in the realm of mystery, forever linked to this tragic chapter of Indian railway history.

Another half finished poem which was on another loose page said "Bhalobeshei toke chai sarakhhon, achis tui moner sathe …"(With love I need you at all times, you are there in my mind at all times …)

People on the internet commented that the poems were "heartbreaking" and showed how life can be uncertain.

Local police officers mentioned that nobody has come forward yet to claim the poems or reveal any relationship with the poet. The fate of the poet is also unknown.
