Four Indians lost their lives when their SUV caught fire after a multi-vehicle collision in Anna city, Texas, on August 30. The SUV collided with a speeding truck, causing a devastating impact that left the vehicle's occupants trapped and the car engulfed in flames. The victims, who were charred beyond recognition, are being identified through DNA fingerprinting by US authorities.

The accident occurred as the victims were carpooling toward Bentonville, Arkansas. The impacted SUV contained Aryan Raghunath Orampati and his friend Farooq Shaik from Hyderabad, Lokesh Palacharla from East Godavari in Andhra Pradesh, and Darshini Vasudevan from Tamil Nadu. Mastan Vali, father of Farooq, expressed his grief, saying, "For the last three years, my son had been in the US for his M.S. course, which he completed recently." He mentioned that his daughter, who also lives in the US, is in contact with authorities regarding Farooq's remains.

Aryan's parents, who had recently attended his convocation at the University of Texas in Dallas, hoped he would return to India, but Aryan intended to work in the US for two more years. A relative close to Aryan confirmed this. Aryan was heading back home to Bentonville after visiting a cousin in Dallas when the accident occurred. Farooq was accompanying him.

Lokesh was on his way to visit his wife in Bentonville, while Darshini, a master's student at the University of Texas, was traveling to see her uncle. The crash happened when the truck, moving at high speed, failed to decelerate despite slowed traffic on the highway and rammed into their SUV. The force of the collision was so intense that the four occupants were unable to escape the ensuing blaze, police reported.

The families of the deceased are waiting for identification confirmation from the authorities.
