As the Formula One season is underway, World championship leader Max Verstappen leads this weekend's Monaco Grand Prix for the first time in the season of 2022 with 110 points. The Dutchman took full advantage of his chance after Ferrari's Charles Leclerc bowed out following his first-place finish in Barcelona last time out, making up for two DNFs earlier in the campaign.

There is hope though that thing will be different in Monaco as Max Verstappen will be looking to end a curse around his home circuit - a place where he has never finished in any F1 or F2 race. George Russell and Sergio Perez completed the top four just ahead of the grand prix, followed by Lewis Hamilton and Carlos Sainz.

Leclerc led both practices ahead of his home Grand Prix, which begins on Saturday afternoon.
