Though Malik was also put to test in the second match, he managed to bag his first international wicket when he dismissed wicket-keeper batter, Lorcan Tucker. He completed his entire spell at the economy of 10.50, which was much better than the previous match.
In the death overs, skipper Hardik Pandya betted on him and gave him the last over to defend 17 runs, out of which, he conceded only 12 runs. Though the outcome was not up to the mark as he yielded a few boundaries, India managed to beat Ireland in the two-match series.
