“Forced to take coins out of their bags," says actor Siddharth, accuses Madurai airport personnel of harassing his parents

Tamil actor Siddharth has claimed that at the Madurai airport in Tamil Nadu, airport security personnel "harassed" his parents on December 27. He posted about his experience on social media, sharing the specifics of the incident in an Instagram story.

He complained that despite requests to converse in English, the authorities continued to speak in Hindi.

He claimed, in the story that appears to have been quickly removed from his account, "CRPF harassed my parents at the airport in Madurai for 20 minutes. My elderly parents were forced to take coins out of their bags! and, despite being instructed to speak in English, kept talking to us in Hindi. rude AF." The security, he continued, had said after their protest, "In India, this is how it is. Jobless people showing off their power."


It should be noted, though, that the actor made the accusations against the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and not the CISF, which is in charge of airport security at Madurai.

Siddharth has appeared in numerous Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu films. Siddharth was last seen in the 2021 theatrical release of the bilingual film Maha Samudram in Tamil and Telugu. Ajay Bhupathi directed the romantic drama. Escaype Live, which will be broadcast on Disney + Hotstar, marks the actor's return to the big screen.

He is also working on S Shankar's Indian 2 project. The Kamal Haasan-starring film is a follow-up to the same-named classic from 1996.
