The United Arab Emirates (UAE), known for its desert climate, received torrential rains over the last two days, and videos coming out of the country showed the extent of flooding it has caused.

Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah were especially affected in the severe downpours, reports said. Khaleej Times reported that several streets in Fujairah were flooded.

Videos shared on social media showed a lot of damage to infrastructure and property - roads caved in, several cars turned turtle and flood water flowed out in wide streams alongside roads. This one, as the description says, is from near the Fujairah airport.

Another one, possibly taken earlier from an unspecified location, showed flood waters swirling into shops and cafeterias and parking areas.

And this, from July 28, is a parking lot at Fujairah, which shows cars submerged in a few feet of water.
