Flipkart faces flak for T-shirt with Sushant Singh Rajput pic and depression quote

E-commerce site Flipkart has come under a lot of flak on social media for selling a t-shirt with a picture of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput along with a message on depression.

The T-shirt in question carries the caption 'Depression is like drowning' with a picture of the late actor. Angry SSR fans took to Twitter to voice their protest, and trended the hashtag #BoycottFlipkart.

Many on Twitter called it a 'smear campaign' against Rajput, and demanded an apology from the online shopping platform.


"Dragging a dead soul n labelling d specific pic as “Depression”!! What kind of cheap marketing is this ??" wrote a user.

"It's not a correct way to develop your online stores. First you remove this t-shirts from sale. Don't play with another's emotions," another user posted.

Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his home in Bandra, Mumbai in June 2020. A post mortem report cited 'asphyxia due to hanging' as the cause of death, but a CBI probe into the matter is still underway.
