Will flights be cancelled today?
The IMD has predicted more rain over the next few days in Delhi and its surrounding areas. With the weather in Delhi-NCR expected to remain cloudy, there are chances that IndiGo, Air India and SpiceJet flight operations might be affected today. The sudden change in the weather impacted traffic, knocked down trees and led to flight diversions. IndiGo flights cancelled today
The sudden change in the weather in Delhi led to flight diversions at the Delhi Airport yesterday. IndiGo, India's largest airline, in a late night advisory said that adverse weather conditions in Delhi have caused temporary disruptions to flight operations. Passengers are advised to stay updated through our website and app for the latest information, the airline said."With thundershower expected to pass over #Delhi and #Bangalore, departures and arrivals may be slightly impacted. While our teams are preparing well in advance to keep things running smoothly, the weather may slow things down a touch," IndiGo said.
Air India flights cancelled today
Heavy rain and thunderstorms may impact flight operations to and from Delhi this evening, Air India said in a travel advisory Wednesday. "Persistent rain and gusty wind are forecast in Delhi and parts of northern India during the day. This may affect flight operations to/from Delhi and some other cities," the airline said.Due to bad weather in Delhi (DEL), all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights may be affected. Passengers are requested to keep a check on their flight status via http://spicejet.com/#status, said SpiceJet.
Delhi rain today
Fierce dust storms and rain swept across Delhi and the National Capital Region on Wednesday evening, disrupting normal life and prompting the India Meteorological Department to issue an orange alert for the city. A yellow alert remains in place for the next two days, forecasting further thunderstorms and rain.One or two spells of very light/light rain is predicted accompanied by thunderstorm/lightning and strong surface winds 30-40kmph gusting to 50kmph in the afternoon to night on Thursday. Another spell of very light/light rain is likely accompanied by thunderstorm lightning and gusty winds of 30-40kmph gusting to 50kmph in the afternoon/evening on Friday, stated IMD.
Residents were advised to stay indoors and avoid standing near windows, electrical poles and power lines. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) also cautioned against leaving loose objects unsecured.
