IndiGo has cancelled around 200 flights on March 2 amid the rising tensions in the Middle East region
Global airlines cancelled flights across the Middle East after the United States and Israel launched strikes on Iran on Saturday, plunging the region into a new conflict. On Monday too, the global air travel remained in turmoil as the war in Iran forced the closure of key Middle Eastern hubs including Dubai, Doha and Abu Dhabi for a third day, stranding tens of thousands of passengers worldwide and disrupting thousands of flights.

IndiGo

IndiGo has cancelled around 200 flights on March 2 amid the rising tensions in the Middle East region. IndiGo , India's biggest airline, said it had suspended all flights that used Middle Eastern airspace until at least March 2.

The airline suspended all flights to and from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Israel, and Qatar through March 2. It also cancelled some flights to and from Europe on March 2.



“In view of the continuing situation in the Middle East, Air India has extended the suspension of all flights to and from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Israel, and Qatar until 2359 hrs IST on 2 March 2026," the airline said.

Emirates

Emirates said it had suspended all flights to and from ⁠Dubai until 1100 GMT on March 2. "Due to multiple regional airspace closures, Emirates has temporarily suspended all operations to and from Dubai, up until 1500hrs UAE time on Monday, 2 March," it said.



Passengers booked to travel before or on March 5 have two options: they can rebook on an alternate flight to their intended destination within 20 days of the original travel date by contacting their travel agent or visiting http://emirat.es/support if the booking was made directly, or they can request a refund by filling out the refund form at http://emirat.es/refund for direct bookings, while those who booked through a travel agent should contact their agent for assistance.

Ethihad Airways



The carrier said it had suspended all flights to and from its Abu Dhabi hub until 1000 GMT on March 2. "Regional airspace closures continue to impact Etihad's operations, and all flights to and from Abu Dhabi are suspended until 14:00 UAE time on Monday 2 March," it said in a post.



Qatar Airways



The airline said it temporarily suspended flights to and from Doha due to the closure of Qatari airspace. "Update: Qatar Airways flight operations remain temporarily suspended due to the closure of Qatari airspace.

Qatar Airways will resume operations once the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority announces the safe reopening of Qatari airspace. A further update will be provided on March 02 by 09:00 Doha time (06:00 UTC). Passengers are advised to monitor the latest flight information via http://qatarairways.com or the Qatar Airways mobile app," the airline said.



SpiceJet

SpiceJet has also announced further cancellation of flights. "Due to ongoing airspace restrictions, additional flights have been cancelled.Passengers are advised to check their flight status before proceeding to the airport," the airline said.



British Airways

IAG-owned British Airways said customers flying between London and Abu Dhabi, Amman, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai or Tel Aviv through March 15 can change their flight date free of charge to travel on or before March 29. Those travelling up to March 8 may also request a ⁠full refund.

Air France KLM

Air France ⁠cancelled flights to and ⁠from Tel Aviv, Beirut, Dubai and Riyadh through March 3.

KLM said its flights to and from Dubai, Riyadh and Dammam may be disrupted through March 6 and flights to and from Tel Aviv were suspended.

Lufthansa

The German ‌airline suspended flights to and from Tel Aviv, Beirut, Amman, Dammam, Erbil and Tehran until March 8 and flights to and from Dubai until March 4.
