First woman chief guest at RSS' Dussehra event in Nagpur

The RSS has invited acclaimed Mountaineer Santosh Yadav has been invited by the RSS to be the chief guest at its annual Dussehra function in Nagpur, the first such invite for a woman
Yadav, 54, is the first woman to climb Mount Everest twice - first in May 1992, and then again in May 1993 with an Indo-Nepalese Team. She is also the first woman to successfully climb Mount Everest from the Kangshung Face, considered a dangerous route of ascent. She was awarded the National Adventure Award in 1994 and Padma Shri in 2000.
The RSS normally invites distinguished persons from different walks of life as its chief guest at the annual Dussehra event, where the organisation's chief Mohan Bhagwat lays out its views on a variety of important issues and sets its agenda.
Santosh Yadav has been invited for this Dussehra, and she will be the first woman chief guest at the event, PTI quoted RSS joint publicity chief Narender Thakur as saying.
Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi and former president Pranab Mukherjee have been among the chief guests in the recent years.
