Fernando Alonso proclaimed that he could still power through and win the Formula One Championship if he managed and worked with a team that could give him the competitive package.

Alonso will be out of the contract he signed with Alpine by the end of 2022. This contract continued for 2021. He admits that he has decided to move to other teams if they give him what he needs to win. He plans to win the World Championship for the third time with this new team. Fernando Alonso won the 2005 and 2006 World Championship when he was with Renault. After this, he moved to McLaren in 2007. He had also signed a contract with Ferrari during his past career.

40-year-old Alonso is presently the oldest driver on the tracks, but he has promised that there are no plans of retirement in his near future. He is focusing on how to get one of the 'competitive cars' on the grid for at least a few years in the future.

How is Fernando Alonso's season in 2022?
The season for the two times World Champion hasn't exactly been stellar. He has had a string of bad luck in - Saudi Arabia, Australia and Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.

He is currently at the 16th position in the driver's ranking.

However, Alonso's experience for itself. He has done well in a few races. He finished in the ninth position in Bahrain. He blew some minds with his excellent performance in the qualifiers for Australia. But unfortunately crashed out in Q3.

What did Fernando Alonso say before the Spanish Grand Prix?
Alonso says he believes in himself and his capabilities to win the third Formula One title if he is provided with a competitive car to drive. He believes himself to be very competitive and fast. He has undoubtedly worked for some of the biggest names in the race. He says that he has hope that he will have the whole package of the car and team one year, and he can win.

He even goes further to say he is fine with working as a number two driver to racers like Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc. He says he doesn't want to ask too much from the team except to be able to drive the fastest car available. He says that there aren't many teams with good number one and two drivers, and what any team needs are two drivers to work together to improve the car. He points out that the new regulations are still new to everyone, and they have to figure most of it out while doing the laps. So if the whole package is good, he would like to explore his possibilities in the upcoming years.
