In the video, the passenger expresses shock, saying, "I feel like crying at the condition of Pakistan."
The clip, dated August 6, has already racked up nearly 2 million views.
One X user commented, "Sorry to point this out, but yes, the paper’s original purpose was to be turned into condom packaging. This probably got rejected due to wrong print or specifications, and was converted into a paper plate instead. Never actually made into a condom box, I can only hope."
In a sarcastic jab, someone else said, "They sell condoms in Pakistan? I’m surprised. Isn’t it Haram to cover it with any material? Oh, maybe China or the US is selling those boxes to these idiots."
Another quipped, "How else were they going to use it in Pakistan anyway? It’s not like it was ever going to serve its intended purpose!"
The viral video comes at a time when Pakistan’s economy is under severe strain. According to the Pakistan Economic Survey 2024–25, public debt rose to PKR 76 trillion in the first nine months of the current fiscal year. The cash-strapped nation’s economy is expected to grow by just 2.7% this year — up from a contraction of -0.2% in 2023 to a modest 2.5% in 2024. Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb revealed that Pakistan’s GDP rose to USD 411 billion this fiscal year, compared to USD 372 billion in the previous year.
