Sadhna was preparing for the NEET exam (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test), which is needed to get into medical colleges. While practising for the exam, she scored low in one of the mock tests. Her father, Dhondiram Bhonsle — a schoolteacher — became very angry.
In a fit of rage, he beat Sadhna badly with a stick. She was badly hurt, especially on her head, and was taken to Ushakal Hospital in Sangli. Sadly, she died before doctors could start treatment.
Her mother filed a complaint with the police on June 22, saying that her husband had beaten their daughter because of the low marks, which led to her death. The father has been arrested and is in police custody till June 24. Police said the case is still being investigated.
